Sheep Studs.

Roslynmead West was founded in 2008 as a sister stud to the parent stud, Roslynmead which was founded in 1999. We are a sheep stud and commercial operation running Dorpers, White Dorpers and Australian Whites, all of which are self-replacing, shedding meat sheep. Roslymead West is located 15km west of Echuca near the Murray River.

Our climate is made up of hot dry summers and cold winters. The sheep are run on predominately native pasture and stubble crops with some access to seasonal grazing crops. Roslynmead West Sheep studs runs 300 high quality Dorpers, 300 high quality White Dorpers, and 150 high quality Australian White Ewes. AI and ET work is used and will continue to be used into the future as we believe in using the very best of our sheep to continue the progression forward. The very best of our sheep are shown and in some cases sold at leading shows and sales around Australia, this allows us to stand side by side with the best sheep in the country in their respective breeds. All of our sheep are bred with the stud and commercial person in mind. Productivity is the main focus, fertility, survivability, strong lambs, carcass yield, and the sheep’s ability to strive in changing seasonal conditions is paramount.

Added to this Roslynmead West also runs a commercial sheep operation which keeps us grounded. We face the same challenges that everyday sheep meat producers face. We believe that this gives us the right insight into what type of sheep are required in this ever evolving sheep meat industry. You either keep up or get left behind.
